I started this Post on August 6th. I did not get around to publishing it for a week.
I read the 1st chapter of Sirach this morning. The verse stressed the wisdom of "Fear of the Lord". I struggled at first reading this idea of fear again. Are we to stand up to our fears with the Lord at our side. Even though fear of the Lord is a common theme throughout the bible, I was taking fear very literally when I read the passage. Then as I discussed the passage with my wife I realized the fear is the same fear I have of her. I should fear of disappointing the Lord, even more than I fear disappointing my wife.
Keep the commandments and live in God's love. Have the same fear of the Lord that you have of you parents or your spouse. Fear you'll disappoint the Lord and you never will. Always know the Lord is there for you to come back to.
